This stunning original Art Deco engagement ring features a phenomenally brilliant 1.95ct old European cut diamond complemented by a richly detailed platinum setting. Fiery, and exceptionally clean with VS1 clarity, the substantial center diamond was cut by hand a lifetime in the past during the first few decades of the 20th century. Its wide facets create dazzlingly bold sparkle. A beautifully executed work of craftsmanship, the platinum setting is richly textured with hand engraving and cutouts! The design has a romantic air of vintage glamour! The large 1.95ct center diamond is exceptionally clean, graded VS1 for clarity. Even under 10x magnification, there are no visible inclusions. The diamond is graded M for color and faces up beautifully white! Part of the diamond’s antique charm, it does show a subtle hint of warmth when looking at the side, as is typical for diamonds from its time period. However, on the face up, the bright white reflections in the diamond’s sparkle completely overwhelm the color.It is a particularly bright stone, and it truly does appear quite white on the face up! Overall, it is a magnificent diamond, full of life and fire. The piece was originally made by hand in the 1920’s, and it is a beautiful and well preserved display of Art Deco craftsmanship. The ring measures 9.3mm across (north south) and 6.7mm from finger to top.
